Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| CANVAS_BASE_URL | Yes | Your Canvas URL, e.g. https://yourschool.instructure.com (leave off any /api/v1). Required. | |
| CANVAS_MCP_HOST | No | Host for HTTP mode. Default 127.0.0.1 (Docker image uses 0.0.0.0). | |
| CANVAS_MCP_PORT | No | Port for HTTP mode. Default 7341. | |
| CANVAS_API_TOKEN | Yes | Your Canvas API token. Required. Can be created under Canvas → Account → Settings → Approved Integrations → + New Access Token. | |
| CANVAS_MAX_CHARS | No | Maximum number of characters per response chunk. Default 20000. |
