Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| TEMPORAL_API_KEY | No | API key for connecting to Temporal Cloud. Required if using cloud profiles without a config file. | |
| TEMPORAL_MCP_CONFIG | No | Path to a configuration file for the MCP server. If not set, the server looks for .temporal-mcp.json or ~/.config/temporal-mcp/config.json. | |
| TEMPORAL_MCP_BREAK_GLASS | No | Environment variable required to enable the 'unsafe' policy mode. Must be set to allow write-risk tools. |
