Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| WHATSAPP_STATE_DIR | No | Directory where runtime state lives. Defaults to ~/.whatsapp-channel/ (never in the repo). Use separate state directories for separate numbers, since only one client at a time can hold a state directory's singleton lock. | |
| WHATSAPP_DIAG_DEBUG | No | Set to 1 to enable Baileys' full debug stream in the diagnostics log. | |
| TRANSCRIPTION_PROVIDER | No | Voice transcription provider (e.g. groq or openai). Older environment variable still supported; can also be configured via the /plugin settings. |
