Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| MCP_BEARER_TOKEN | No | Bearer token required when running the server over HTTP (`:8333/mcp`). Not needed for stdio transport. | |
| VIRUSTOTAL_API_KEY | No | VirusTotal v3 API key. Enables engine verdicts, community votes and WHOIS age as evidence sources. Optional. | |
| SITECHECK_CACHE_DIR | No | Directory where feeds are cached and refreshed on use (Tranco weekly, phishing feeds 6-12 h). A failed refresh keeps serving the stale copy. Defaults to `~/.cache/sitecheck-mcp`. | |
| SAFE_BROWSING_API_KEY | No | Google Safe Browsing v4 API key. Enables Google's phishing/malware lists as an evidence source. Optional; `source_status` shows which sources are active. |
