Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| CODEX_MCP_TIMEOUT_MS | No | Timeout in milliseconds for a single request (default 1200000, i.e., 20 minutes). | |
| CODEX_MCP_DEFAULT_MODEL | No | Default model to use (e.g., gpt-5.6-sol). Overrides the server default. | |
| CODEX_MCP_MAX_OUTPUT_CHARS | No | Maximum number of characters returned to MCP (default 200000). | |
| CODEX_MCP_DEFAULT_REASONING_EFFORT | No | Default reasoning effort level (e.g., max). Overrides the server default. |
