# do-it MCP
Connect your IDE or coding agent to your do-it tasks. The do-it MCP server lets an agent read and manage your tasks and, whenever it needs you (an approval, a credential, a console action), record a **manual step** in the project's section instead of only saying so in chat. Later sessions see the open steps and resume once you have done them.
- **MCP URL:** `https://fhfnyzkocsetxnntrkmx.supabase.co/functions/v1/mcp`
- **Read-only URL:** `https://fhfnyzkocsetxnntrkmx.supabase.co/functions/v1/mcp/readonly` (same steps, swap the URL; only the three read tools are exposed).
Tools: `get_project_context`, `list_tasks`, `search_tasks`, `add_task`, `capture_manual_step`, `add_note`, `update_task`, `link_project`.
## Sign-in and consent
The first connection opens the do-it consent page in your browser. Sign in with your do-it (Google) account; the page shows the client name and where you will be sent back, and nothing connects until you press **Approve** (or **Deny**). The consent text is the same for both URLs; the read-only limit is enforced by the server route.
## Claude Code
Plugin (session-start repo context plus the MCP server):
```bash
claude plugin marketplace add reinaldomoreira/do-it-mcp
claude plugin install do-it@do-it
```
Plain MCP only:
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http do-it https://fhfnyzkocsetxnntrkmx.supabase.co/functions/v1/mcp
```
## Cursor
One-tap install link (open with `open "<url>"` on macOS, `Start-Process "<url>"` in PowerShell, or `xdg-open "<url>"` on Linux):
```text
cursor://anysphere.cursor-deeplink/mcp/install?name=do-it&config=eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL2ZoZm55emtvY3NldHhubnRya214LnN1cGFiYXNlLmNvL2Z1bmN0aW9ucy92MS9tY3AifQ==
```
Or copy [`cursor/mcp.json`](cursor/mcp.json) to `.cursor/mcp.json`.
Cursor Marketplace: this repository is a Cursor plugin ([`.cursor-plugin/plugin.json`](.cursor-plugin/plugin.json)); install it from the marketplace once listed.
## Gemini CLI
This repository is a Gemini CLI extension ([`gemini-extension.json`](gemini-extension.json)):
```bash
gemini extensions install https://github.com/reinaldomoreira/do-it-mcp
```
## Claude Desktop and claude.ai
On the web at <https://claude.ai/customize/connectors> → Add custom connector → paste the MCP URL → connect and Approve. Free plans allow one custom connector.
## ChatGPT
On the web at <https://chatgpt.com/plugins> → plus button → Add custom MCP server → paste the MCP URL as the connection → authentication → Create as a plugin.
## VS Code
One-tap install link (open the same way):
```text
vscode:mcp/install?%7B%22name%22%3A%22do-it%22%2C%22type%22%3A%22http%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Ffhfnyzkocsetxnntrkmx.supabase.co%2Ffunctions%2Fv1%2Fmcp%22%7D
```
Or copy [`vscode/mcp.json`](vscode/mcp.json) to `.vscode/mcp.json`.
## Codex, Windsurf, Zed, JetBrains
Clients without native remote-HTTP OAuth use the `mcp-remote` stdio bridge:
```json
{
"mcpServers": {
"do-it": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://fhfnyzkocsetxnntrkmx.supabase.co/functions/v1/mcp"]
}
}
}
```
Put it where the client keeps MCP config (Codex `~/.codex/config.toml` takes the same command/args as TOML; Windsurf `~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json`; Zed `context_servers`; JetBrains Settings → Tools → AI Assistant → MCP).
## Rules snippet
Paste [`rules/AGENTS.md`](rules/AGENTS.md) into `AGENTS.md`, `.cursor/rules/do-it.mdc` or `.github/copilot-instructions.md` so the agent uses do-it proactively.
## Revoke access
In the do-it app: Profile → Add to your AI → Connected apps → Revoke. An IDE session that is already open may keep working until its access token expires.
## Privacy
Tasks sync to every device and collaborator of a section. Never put passwords, tokens or other secrets in tasks. The Claude Code plugin's session-start hook runs locally (`git remote get-url origin`) and makes no network call.
