Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| MERKL_MCP_STATE | No | Writable directory where the one pending proposal a person may be deciding on is stored so an escalation survives a restart. Defaults to /var/lib/merkl-mcp. | |
| MERKL_RECEIPT_DIR | No | Directory where the agent's receipts are read from and written to. Defaults to receipts/ in the agent bundle directory. | |
| MERKL_TRADER_HOME | No | Optional path to the harness journal's home used with optional [bill] and [loop].home tables for get_treasury's compute_bill. |
