Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.
| Name | Required | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| X_CT0 | Yes | The X (Twitter) `ct0` cookie value, copied from x.com while logged in (DevTools > Application/Storage > Cookies > https://x.com). Alternatively, place both `auth_token` and `ct0` in an `auth.json` file instead of using the environment variables. | |
| X_AUTH_TOKEN | Yes | The X (Twitter) `auth_token` cookie value, copied from x.com while logged in (DevTools > Application/Storage > Cookies > https://x.com). Alternatively, place both `auth_token` and `ct0` in an `auth.json` file instead of using the environment variables. | |
| COBALT_API_KEY | No | Optional API key for the cobalt instance configured via `COBALT_API_URL`. | |
| COBALT_API_URL | No | URL of the cobalt instance used to resolve videos and GIFs, e.g. `https://cobalt.your-host.tld` or `http://localhost:9000`. The public `api.cobalt.tools` instance has bot protection, so point it at an instance you control. | |
| X_ALLOW_WRITES | No | Set to `true` to enable writes to your X account. Writes are off unless `X_ALLOW_WRITES=true`. Local folders and read-only operations work with writes disabled. | false |
| X_MAX_WRITES_PER_HOUR | No | Persisted budget of writes per hour, applied across processes. Defaults to 30. | 30 |
| X_QUERY_ID_<OPERATION> | No | Optional override pinning a GraphQL query id for a given X operation, e.g. `X_QUERY_ID_BOOKMARKS`, for use when the automatic query id resolution fails. |
