| premiere_pingA | Send a live round-trip ping to Adobe Premiere Pro 2019 through the local CEP bridge and ExtendScript host. Returns Premiere version, build number, open project state, and round-trip latency. |
| premiere_health_checkB | Run a comprehensive health check of the Premiere Pro 2019 MCP server, local HTTP bridge, Premiere Pro 2019 installation, CEP extension installation, running process status, and live ExtendScript connectivity. |
| get_project_infoA | Inspect the currently open Adobe Premiere Pro 2019 project: project name, file path, document ID, proxy state, sequence count, active sequence summary, and root bin item counts. |
| get_active_sequenceA | Get detailed information about the currently active sequence in Premiere Pro 2019, including sequence ID, name, duration, playhead (CTI) position, In/Out points, video/audio track counts, and clip counts per track. |
| get_sequence_settingsA | Retrieve the sequence settings of the active sequence (or a sequence specified by name/ID), including frame width/height, frame rate (FPS and ticks), pixel aspect ratio, field type, audio sample rate, and display formats. |
| list_sequencesA | List all sequences in the current Premiere Pro 2019 project with their names, sequence IDs, active status, durations, track counts, and clip counts. |
| list_project_itemsA | List media, bins, and sequences in the Premiere Pro Project panel. Supports recursive traversal and filtering by item type. |
| save_projectA | Safely save the current Premiere Pro 2019 project. Supports saving a copy via save_as_path or creating an automatic timestamped backup before saving in-place. Overwriting the original project in-place requires confirm_overwrite=true. |
| create_sequence_from_supported_presetA | Create a new sequence in the open Premiere Pro 2019 project using a verified Premiere Pro 2019 .sqpreset file or preset alias (e.g., '1080p24', '1080p25', '1080p29.97', '1080p30', '1080p60', '720p30', 'dslr_1080p24', '4k_uhd_24'). |
| import_mediaA | Import one or more local video, audio, or image files into the Premiere Pro 2019 project and verify that the imported items appear in the project. |
| search_project_mediaC | Search for media items, bins, or sequences inside the open Premiere Pro 2019 project by name or file path. |
| get_selected_project_itemsA | Get the project items currently selected by the user in the Premiere Pro 2019 Project panel. |
| get_selected_timeline_clipsA | Get all timeline clips (TrackItems) currently selected in the active sequence across video and audio tracks. |
| get_track_informationB | Inspect video and/or audio tracks in the active sequence, including track names, mute/lock/target states, and all clips on each track. |
| get_clip_informationB | Get detailed information about a specific timeline clip in the active sequence, including start/end times, in/out points, duration, speed, linked items, source project item, and applied effect components. |
| place_media_on_timelineA | Place an imported project media item onto the active sequence timeline at a specified start time (in seconds) and track index. Supports 'insert' (ripples subsequent clips) or 'overwrite' mode, and verifies the resulting timeline clip. |
| move_clipB | Move a timeline clip to a new start time (in seconds) on its track and verify the updated clip boundaries. |
| trim_clipC | Trim a timeline clip's source inPoint/outPoint or timeline start/end boundaries with frame accuracy, and verify the resulting clip duration. |
| split_clip_at_timeA | Split (razor) a clip on a specified video or audio track at a given timeline time in seconds. Uses an isolated QE DOM adapter (qeTrack.razor) because Premiere Pro 2019's standard ExtendScript DOM does not expose TrackItem.split(), and verifies that the clip count increased. |
| remove_clipA | Remove a clip from the active sequence timeline. Because this is a destructive edit, confirm_removal=true is required. |
| set_clip_enabledA | Enable or disable a timeline clip in the active sequence and verify the updated state. |
| list_clip_componentsB | List all components (intrinsic effects like Opacity, Motion, Volume, and any applied video/audio effects) on a timeline clip. |
| list_component_propertiesB | List all parameters/properties of a specific component (effect) on a timeline clip, including current values and keyframe state. |
| read_clip_propertiesB | Read all components and their parameter values for a timeline clip, including Motion (Position, Scale, Rotation, Anchor Point), Opacity, Blend Mode, and applied effects. |
| set_supported_clip_propertyA | Set a supported property value on any component/effect of a timeline clip, and verify the new value by reading it back from Premiere Pro. |
| set_motion_positionA | Set the Motion Position (X, Y) of a video clip on the timeline and verify the readback value. Supports pixel coordinates (e.g. 960, 540 for a 1920x1080 sequence) or normalized coordinates (0.5, 0.5 for center). |
| set_motion_scaleB | Set the Motion Scale percentage (e.g. 100 for 100%) on a video clip and verify the readback value. |
| set_motion_rotationC | Set the Motion Rotation angle (in degrees) on a video clip and verify the readback value. |
| set_opacityB | Set the Opacity percentage (0 to 100) on a video clip and verify the readback value. |
| set_supported_blend_modeB | Set a supported Blend Mode (e.g. 'Normal', 'Multiply', 'Screen', 'Overlay', 'Soft Light', 'Hard Light', 'Difference', 'Add') on a video clip's Opacity component and verify the readback value. |
| list_supported_keyframe_propertiesC | List all component properties on a timeline clip that support time-varying keyframes in Premiere Pro 2019. |
| get_property_keyframesA | Inspect all keyframes on a specified component property of a timeline clip, returning keyframe times (clip-relative, timeline, and source seconds/ticks) and values. |
| add_property_keyframeB | Enable keyframing (time-varying) on a supported clip property, add a keyframe at the specified time with the given value, and verify the keyframe readback. |
| update_property_keyframeB | Update the value (and optional interpolation mode) of an existing keyframe on a clip property and verify readback. |
| remove_property_keyframeB | Remove a keyframe at a specified time (or all keyframes in a time range) from a clip component property and verify that the keyframe count decreased. |
| set_keyframe_interpolation_when_supportedA | Set keyframe interpolation mode ('linear', 'hold', 'bezier', or 'time') at an existing keyframe on a clip property. |
| get_export_capabilitiesA | Inspect Premiere Pro 2019's available export methods (direct synchronous export via exportAsMediaDirect, Adobe Media Encoder queue via app.encoder, Final Cut Pro XML, and project export) and list verified system .epr presets. |
| validate_export_settingsA | Validate export output path, preset (.epr) existence, overwrite hazards, and active sequence readiness before starting an export. |
| export_active_sequenceA | Export the active sequence in Premiere Pro 2019 using a verified .epr preset or export format. Requires explicit confirm_export=true, and confirm_overwrite=true if the output file already exists. |
| get_export_statusB | Check the status of recent or active exports from Premiere Pro / Adobe Media Encoder and inspect the output file on disk. |
| cancel_export_when_supportedA | Attempt to cancel a queued export job or report explicit Premiere Pro 2019 API limitations for in-progress renders. |

Scored across 41 tools
Most tools have distinct resource+action targets, but the clip-inspection cluster (read_clip_properties, get_clip_information, list_clip_components, list_component_properties) overlaps heavily, forcing agents to guess which read path to use. The descriptions help but the boundaries between these tools remain fuzzy.
The set predominantly follows a verb_noun snake_case pattern (get_, list_, set_, export_, etc.). Minor deviations like premiere_ping and premiere_health_check, plus read_ vs get_ for similar read operations, keep it from being fully consistent.
41 tools is well beyond the 25+ threshold for 'too many' and feels heavy for the apparent scope. Several capabilities could be consolidated (e.g., five separate motion/opacity/blend setters, six keyframe tools) without losing functionality.
The surface covers project, sequence, media, timeline editing, keyframes, and export workflows quite thoroughly. Minor gaps remain for direct audio operations (volume/pan) and adding/removing effects, but the generic property setter and other tools provide workarounds.
