# AutoContent MCP Server

Turn PDFs, URLs, documents, videos and text into podcasts, videos, slide decks, infographics, articles, guides, ebooks and quizzes from any MCP client. Your assistant plans the asset, shows the quote, and AutoContent generates it on your account.

- **Endpoint:** `https://mcp.autocontentapi.com/v1` (Streamable HTTP)
- **Auth:** OAuth, sign in with your AutoContent account
- **Website:** https://autocontentapi.com/mcp
- **Official MCP Registry:** `com.autocontentapi/platform`

## What you can do

- Create projects and add knowledge sources: PDFs, URLs, documents, videos and text.
- Generate videos (five video types), podcasts, slide decks, infographics, articles, practical guides, ebooks and quizzes.
- Preview a generation and its quote before you approve it, then edit results or give feedback.
- Set up recurring Content Loops that keep producing new content.
- Create custom voices and avatars for your brand, and check your usage.

## Connect

The server uses OAuth. Your client opens a browser window, you sign in with your AutoContent account and approve access. You do not copy an API key.

### Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)

Open **Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector**, enter `https://mcp.autocontentapi.com/v1` and select **Connect**.

### Claude Code

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http autocontent https://mcp.autocontentapi.com/v1
```

Then run `/mcp` in Claude Code and authenticate `autocontent`.

### Codex CLI

```bash
codex mcp add autocontent --url https://mcp.autocontentapi.com/v1
codex mcp login autocontent
```

### Cursor

Add this to `~/.cursor/mcp.json`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "autocontent": { "url": "https://mcp.autocontentapi.com/v1" }
  }
}
```

### VS Code

```bash
code --add-mcp '{"name":"autocontent","type":"http","url":"https://mcp.autocontentapi.com/v1"}'
```

### Gemini CLI

```bash
gemini mcp add --transport http autocontent https://mcp.autocontentapi.com/v1
```

### ChatGPT and other clients

Add a custom connector (in ChatGPT, developer mode) with the URL `https://mcp.autocontentapi.com/v1`. Any client that supports Streamable HTTP and MCP OAuth works.

## Tools

Your client always gets the current list and schemas from `tools/list`. Main tools:

- **Projects and knowledge:** `create_project`, `list_projects`, `get_project`, `update_project`, `add_source`, `list_sources`, `set_project_logo`, `remove_project_logo`
- **Discovery and generation:** `get_capabilities`, `preview_generation`, `generate`, `get_generation`, `preview_generation_edit`, `edit_generation`, `feedback_asset`
- **Content Loops:** `create_content_loop`, `list_content_loops`, `update_content_loop`, `run_content_loop`
- **Brand resources:** `create_custom_voice`, `get_voice`, `delete_voice`, `create_custom_avatar`, `get_avatar`, `delete_avatar`
- **Account:** `get_usage`

More tools cover project archive, collections, source status and search, generation lists and cancellation, and asset details.

## Authentication and account

OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration. Sign in with your AutoContent account. Scopes: `platform.read`, `platform.write`, `platform.generate`, `platform.billing.read`.

You need an AutoContent account. Generations use your account balance.
