Server Configuration

Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
FCP_MCP_INDEXNoSet to off to disable the analysis cache; every tool still answers, only slower.
FCP_WATCH_DIRNoDirectory to watch for the operator's Cmd-E export so the round-trip can be detected and diffed against the last export. Used by watch_start; can be set once per session instead.
FCP_MCP_AUTOPUSHNoSet to 1 to enable zero-click auto-push of the generated timeline into a running Final Cut Pro.
FCP_PROJECTS_DIRYesDirectory containing your Final Cut Pro projects/exports (e.g. ~/Movies). Set via `claude mcp add fcpxml -e FCP_PROJECTS_DIR=~/Movies` or in the MCP server config `env` block.
