Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| GOOGLE_API_KEY | No | Optional Google API key that enables Gemini function-calling in the Alexa+ simulator. Without it, a keyword router is used. | |
| HERMES_API_KEY | Yes | API key for authenticating with the Hermes HTTP API. | |
| HERMES_API_URL | Yes | URL of the Hermes HTTP API used by the MCP server to reach the Hermes agent. | |
| HERMES_REQUIRED | No | Set to false for tests only. When true (default), the server refuses to start if the Hermes gateway is down. | true |
