Server Configuration

Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
MCP_MUX_STORE_KEYNoKey used to encrypt the file-based credential store (used when the store type is `file`; on macOS the Keychain is used by default). MCP clients start servers with only the variables you configure, so put this secret in the client's `env` for this server, for example `claude mcp add notion -e MCP_MUX_STORE_KEY=... -- mcp-mux serve ...`.
