Server Configuration

Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
MCP_DATA_DIRNoThe allowed root folder for the filesystem tools (defaults to your home directory, $HOME or %USERPROFILE%). Setting it at start changes the root, e.g. `MCP_DATA_DIR=/other/path npm start` or `set MCP_DATA_DIR=D:\work` on Windows cmd.
PUBLIC_ORIGINNoOptional non-default variable copied from .env.example; only needed if you require a PUBLIC_ORIGIN other than the default.
GROK_CALLBACK_PREFIXNoAllowlisted redirect_uri prefix for Grok's OAuth callback (https://grok.com/connectors-oauth-exchange-code/ was observed live). Set this if a future Grok change moves that callback.
