Search Freesound (music, loops, sound effects)

vivid_search_sounds
Read-only

Find music, loops, and sound effects on Freesound.org with commercially usable licenses by default, returning MP3 preview URLs for video projects and audio analysis.

Instructions

Search the Freesound.org library for existing music, loops and sound effects (free, no credits). By default only licenses usable in commercial content are returned: CC0 (no attribution) and CC BY (credit the author — attribution is the line to put in the caption or credits). Results carry an MP3 preview URL (~128 kbps, fine for social video): pass it as a media source to vivid_create_editor_project / vivid_edit_timeline, or to vivid_analyze_audio for beats. For a track written to a brief, use vivid_generate_music instead.

Input Schema

TDQS

A4.9/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Beyond the safety annotations, it provides critical behavioral information about the results, such as the preview quality (MP3 ~128kbps), the specific licensing requirements for commercial use (attribution line), and warnings against using non-commercial assets in ads.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The description is slightly lengthy but effectively front-loads the search function and logically flows through licensing, result format, and suggested workflow.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

The description is highly complete, covering the source of the data, the licensing constraints, the technical specifications of the result (MP3 URL), and the suggested next steps for the resulting assets within the vivid ecosystem.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters5/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Although schema coverage is 100%, the description adds substantial semantic value by defining the implications of the licensing structure and the consequences of setting includeNonCommercial to true (i.e., usage in ads or product videos).

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description clearly states its purpose is to search the Freesound.org library for specific media types (music, loops, sound effects). It further distinguishes itself from generation tools like vivid_generate_music by advising users to use that alternative for briefs.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines5/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It provides explicit guidelines on commercial vs. non-commercial use, detailing the default license filtering (CC0, CC BY). It also gives downstream usage advice by specifying how the resulting MP3 URLs should be passed to other vivid tools.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
