Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.
| Name | Required | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| GROQ_API_KEY | No | Optional provider API key (Groq is used as the documented example). Provider credentials unlock more models and higher limits; no credentials are required when an enabled keyless route is available. | |
| FREELLMPOOL_MODE | No | Optional freellmpool operating mode, e.g. 'normal' or 'wise'. 'wise' enables conservative quota behavior such as smaller output budgets and spread routing. | |
| FREELLMPOOL_ROUTING | No | Optional routing preference, e.g. 'fast' to prefer the lowest-latency provider instead of the default least-used-first routing. | |
| FREELLMPOOL_PROXY_KEY | No | Optional bearer token to require from proxy clients. Relevant only if deliberately exposing the proxy beyond loopback. |
Instructions
Guidance the server publishes about itself, which clients place ahead of the tool catalog so the model reads it before choosing anything.
