Server Configuration

Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
APP_URLNoPublic and definitive URL of the panel; it is the OAuth issuer and resource, so it must match the URL clients connect to. Optional on Vercel: when unset, VERCEL_PROJECT_PRODUCTION_URL (production domain, https) is used instead.
ADMIN_EMAILYesE-mail of the bootstrap admin account created on first run.
SIGNUP_MODENoRegistration policy of the panel. Use SIGNUP_MODE=invite_only for a personal service; invitations are then generated in Administration -> Invites.
DATABASE_URLYesPooled connection string of the Neon Postgres project (used by the migrate step and by the web app). Must be defined before the first deploy, otherwise the build fails at the migration step.
ADMIN_PASSWORDYesInitial password of the bootstrap admin account (a password change is enforced on first login). Should be removed from the environment variables once the admin password has been changed in the panel.
SESSION_SECRETYesSecret (32+ characters) used to sign sessions.
