Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| MEDIUM_MCP_EXCERPT_MAX_CHARS | No | Maximum number of characters for the excerpt returned by article_content. Defaults to 500, max 2000. Overrides the setting in settings/medium-mcp.yaml. | |
| MEDIUM_MCP_ALLOW_CONTENT_EXPORT | No | When 'true', allows full article text to be written to disk or downstream stores. Defaults to 'false'. Overrides the setting in settings/medium-mcp.yaml. |
