Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

`OPENAI_API_KEY`	No	OpenAI API key used for Whisper transcription of voice/audio messages. Set in ~/.claude/channels/telegram/.env. Optional -- if absent, the server falls back to local whisper.cpp / openai-whisper, or no transcription.
`TELEGRAPH_ENABLED`	No	Set to true to enable publishing long-form content to Telegraph (telegra.ph) as Instant View articles. Disabled by default because posts are publicly accessible by URL; when disabled the create_telegraph_page tool is hidden.	false
`TELEGRAM_BOT_TOKEN`	Yes	The bot token from BotFather, e.g. 123456789:AAHfiqksKZ8... Written to ~/.claude/channels/telegram/.env via /telegram:configure, written by hand, or set in the shell environment (shell takes precedence). The server won't connect without it.
`OPENAI_WHISPER_MODEL`	No	Whisper model to use for transcription, e.g. gpt-4o-transcribe. Defaults to whisper-1.	whisper-1
`TELEGRAM_ROUTER_MODEL`	No	Configurable two-tier model router: Haiku (fast, 200K), Sonnet (balanced, 1M), or Opus (deep, 1M). Complex tasks auto-escalate to Opus via subagents.
`TELEGRAM_ESCALATION_MODEL`	No	The target model used when a complex task auto-escalates via subagents (defaults to Opus).

Guidance the server publishes about itself, which clients place ahead of the tool catalog so the model reads it before choosing anything.

This server publishes no instructions, or was last inspected before Glama recorded them.
