Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

Name	Required	Description	Default
`GITHUB_TOKEN`	No	Optionally provides read access to GitHub and a larger API budget; never expose it to MCP clients.
`XTEND_DATA_DIR`	No	Overrides the local persistence directory (default /data).
`XTEND_MCP_TOKENS`	Yes	One or more comma-separated secrets (32–256 characters each) used for bearer authentication. Supply through the deployment environment; do not commit them.
`XTEND_SOURCE_REF`	No	The source ref (branch or release tag) to synchronize. Defaults to main (the development channel); select a release tag for a release channel.	main
`XTEND_ALLOWED_HOSTS`	No	Set to the exact external hostname and internal health-check hostname.
`XTEND_ALLOWED_ORIGINS`	No	Exact scheme/host/port origins when browser access is needed. Missing Origin is allowed for machine clients.
`XTEND_RETAIN_SNAPSHOTS`	No	Number of retained snapshots. Defaults to three.	3
`XTEND_SOURCE_REPOSITORY`	No	The source repository to synchronize from. Defaults to konnilabs/xtend.	konnilabs/xtend
`XTEND_MAX_SNAPSHOT_BYTES`	No	Maximum snapshot size budget, including source verification downloads. Defaults to 64 MiB; budget failure rejects the whole update, never truncates recipes.	64 MiB
