CAPT Guardian / CAPT Relay
A public Inversion Labs derivative of CAPT for the Amazon Build, Ship, Shape Alexa+ track.
Alexa asks. Agents reason. CAPT governs. The human remains sovereign. The receipt proves it.
CAPT Guardian is not a generic MCP wrapper. It inserts explicit authority, typed evidence, human approval, governed execution, and verifiable receipts between an Alexa+ intent and consequential side effects.

The human approval decision is intentionally not exposed as an MCP tool. An agent may propose or attempt an action, but it cannot manufacture the human decision that unlocks it.

There is deliberately no approve, authorize, or human_decision MCP tool.

Do not bind the development defaults publicly without configuring the production authentication and host/origin policy. The human approval API is disabled when CAPT_GUARDIAN_HUMAN_APPROVAL_TOKEN is unset.
Alexa OAuth resource-server boundary
OAuth is disabled only when all OAuth environment variables are absent. If any OAuth setting is present, issuer, resource, and JWKS URI are mandatory and startup fails closed when the configuration is incomplete. Access tokens are cryptographically verified for signature, issuer, audience, expiration, client identity, and scopes.
The public protected-resource metadata document is available at /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource (and the path-aware /.../mcp variant). mcp:service may initialize and discover tools, but cannot invoke Guardian tools. User tool calls require mcp:tools; resource operations require mcp:resources. OAuth-owned workflows are bound to a stable hashed principal and reject access from another OAuth principal.
The server is the OAuth resource server, not the authorization server. Alexa account linking still requires a compatible external OAuth 2.1 authorization server and real Alexa+ registration.
Human approval boundary
The MCP client never receives a tool capable of approving an action. A separately authenticated human channel exposes GET /human/approvals and POST /human/approvals/:approvalRequestId/decision. Decisions must echo the exact action digest the human reviewed; mismatches fail closed. The bearer credential is accepted only in the Authorization header, never a query string.
This is the local/demo human-decision channel, not Alexa account linking. Alexa identity is handled independently by the OAuth resource-server boundary and an external account-linking authorization server.
Verification
npm test currently covers the authority kernel, MCP protocol surface, and real Node HTTP endpoint.

Current limits
Not yet claimed complete: external authorization-server/account-linking deployment, polished human approval UI, external evidence adapters, specialist model cohorts, MCP App UI, remote Alexa+ invocation, or public-endpoint latency. These are explicit next gates rather than mocked features.
