netintel_v1_chat_completions

Send chat completion requests to an OpenAI-compatible API and pay per call in USDC via x402, with no API key needed. The model you specify sets the price.

Instructions

OpenAI-compatible chat completions gateway (POST /v1/chat/completions shape). The model in the body sets the price: POST unpaid and the 402 quotes that model's exact price in USDC via x402 — no OpenAI account or API key. A model the gateway does not serve returns a 400 naming its dedicated endpoint; where per-model pricing is on it serves those too, each at its configured price. This client pays accepted challenges automatically — this text is not a spending cap. GET /v1/models (free) is the live catalogue. Supports response_format {type:"json_object"}.

TDQS

A3.9/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

With no annotations, the description carries the full burden and does so richly: it discloses the x402/USDC payment flow, that a 402 response quotes the model's exact price, that no OpenAI account or key is needed, that the client auto-pays accepted challenges, and that unserved models return a 400 naming a dedicated endpoint. It also warns that the text is not a spending cap - unusually useful behavioral context.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loads the core purpose in the first sentence, then layers pricing, routing, and payment warnings. It is dense and covers a lot of payment minutiae in a short space, but every sentence carries information relevant to invoking it correctly.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a payment-gated gateway with no annotations, no output schema, and 0% schema coverage, the description covers purpose, auth, pricing, error semantics, and catalogue discovery well. It stops short of describing the response shape or the meaning of max_tokens/messages, which leaves minor gaps.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 0% across 4 params, so the description must compensate. It adds real meaning for 'model' (the field that sets the price) and documents response_format {type:'json_object'}, but 'messages' and 'max_tokens' are left entirely to the standard OpenAI convention with no added detail.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The first sentence gives a specific verb+resource ('OpenAI-compatible chat completions gateway') and names the exact wire shape (POST /v1/chat/completions). It also differentiates from the many netintel_openai_gpt_* siblings by explaining that unserved models return a 400 naming their dedicated endpoint. The purpose is clear, though the delivery is dense.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Uses implied guidance rather than explicit when-to-use rules: it tells the agent that GET /v1/models is the free live catalogue and that dedicated endpoints exist for certain models, but never says 'prefer this gateway over netintel_openai_gpt_4_1 when ...'. The agent must infer the selection conditions.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
