Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| FCP_MCP_INDEX | No | Set to `off` to disable the analysis cache. Nothing depends on it; every tool still answers, only slower. | |
| FCP_WATCH_DIR | No | Directory to watch for the operator's Cmd-E XML export, so `watch_start` does not need to be called once per session. | |
| FCP_MCP_AUTOPUSH | No | Set to 1 to enable zero-click import (auto push-to-FCP) after deliver, equivalent to `deliver.push_to_fcp`. | |
| FCP_PROJECTS_DIR | Yes | Directory containing your Final Cut Pro projects. Passed to the server in the quick start, e.g. `claude mcp add fcpxml -e FCP_PROJECTS_DIR=~/Movies -- uvx fcp-mcp-server`. |
