Ask your assistant *"Convert https://example.com/invoice.ofd to PDF"* and it gets back a download link. The conversions run on [MiConvert](https://miconvert.com/?utm_source=github&utm_medium=readme&utm_campaign=miconvert-mcp), the same engine as the website, including the formats most converters lack:

The endpoint is `https://miconvert.com/mcp` (Streamable HTTP, stateless, no authentication).

### ChatGPT

Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings → enable **Developer mode**, then create a connector with the URL. No authentication.

## Tools

| Tool | What it does | Read-only |

| `convert_file` | Downloads the file at a public `file_url`, converts it to `to`, and returns a `download_url` valid for about 4 hours. Most conversions finish within the call. | no (creates a job; never modifies anything of yours) |
| `get_conversion_status` | Follows a conversion that was still running when `convert_file` returned. Waits up to ~25 s. | yes |
| `list_supported_formats` | Lists every source format, or the targets for one (`from: "step"`). | yes |

`convert_file` arguments:

## Limits

- **The file must be reachable by URL.** Assistants do not pass files you attach in a chat, or files on your computer, to MCP servers. Share a link (Google Drive "Anyone with the link", Dropbox, OneDrive, a GitHub raw URL, ...), or upload it on [miconvert.com](https://miconvert.com/?utm_source=github&utm_medium=readme&utm_campaign=miconvert-mcp).
- One file of up to **50 MB** per call.
- A shared hourly allowance per connection. Heavy users: the [Marketplace API](https://miconvert.com/en/api-docs?utm_source=github&utm_medium=readme&utm_campaign=miconvert-mcp#marketplace) has paid tiers up to 200 MB.
- Download links expire after about 4 hours.

## Privacy

Files are fetched only to convert them, and inputs and outputs are deleted automatically. No account, cookie or API key is involved.
