Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.
| Name | Required | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| --config | Yes | Path to the databases.json config file listing the connections. Required by the server; without it the server refuses to start. | |
| --dotenv | No | Path to a separate env file holding the credentials referenced from databases.json via ${VAR}. Note: not --env-file, which Node.js intercepts. | |
| --log-file | No | Path of the log file for diagnostics (stdout is reserved for the MCP protocol). | |
| --no-audit | No | Disable the audit log entirely. | |
| --audit-dir | No | Folder for the audit log (one JSON line per tool call, rotated daily). Defaults to .multidb next to databases.json. | |
| --log-level | No | Log level for diagnostics written to stderr. | |
| --audit-keep-days | No | Number of days audit files are kept; 0 keeps everything. Default is 90. |
