Server Configuration

Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
HACTL_DIRNoSelects the Home Assistant instance directory (containing the .env with HA URL and token). Alternatively use --dir, the current directory or its parents, or ~/.hactl/default/.
COMPANION_URLNoSet this in .env directly when companion auto-discovery is not available (e.g. HA Container without Supervisor, or a reverse proxy that strips /api/hassio/*).
HACTL_SESSIONNoSession identifier used for per-instance manual delivery (defaults to a 30-minute idle window).
HACTL_MANUAL_MODENoControls progressive manual injection: 'off' disables it, 'full' sends the whole manual once.
