Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.
| Name | Required | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| ENABLE_3D | No | Set to `true` to enable the 3D solid tools (`solid_box/cylinder/extrude/revolve/boolean`) on live AutoCAD. Unset by default, which is why a default install advertises 242 rather than 247 tools. | false |
| TOOL_PACKS | No | Tool packs to advertise, comma-separated. Options include `all`, `core`, `settings`, `mech`, `arch`, `pid`, `plant` (e.g. `TOOL_PACKS=core,mech`). | all |
| TOOL_PROFILE | No | Tool profile to advertise: `full` (default, 242 tools) or `lean` (65 tools). | full |
| ALLOWED_PATHS | No | Restricts file access to these paths, e.g. `C:\\Users\\you\\Documents\\AutoCAD`. | |
| DISCOVERY_MODE | No | Tool discovery mode: `off` (default) or `search`, which advertises only two tools and lowers idle cost to ~356 tokens. | off |
| EZDXF_UNDO_DEPTH | No | Opt-in undo history depth for the ezdxf (headless) backend. | |
| AUTOCAD_MCP_BACKEND | No | Backend engine to use: `auto` (default), `ezdxf` (portable headless DXF engine, no AutoCAD needed), or `com` (live AutoCAD control, requires the `[com]` extra). | auto |
