Server Configuration

Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
GROQ_API_KEYNoProvider API key for Groq. Add keys for other providers to unlock more models and higher limits; the server can start without credentials when an enabled keyless route is available.
FREELLMPOOL_MODENoSet to "wise" for the conservative quota mode: ask defaults to a smaller output budget and spread routing, tokenmax narrows its default fan-out, and broad multi-model calls require confirmation unless --yes is passed.
FREELLMPOOL_ROUTINGNoSet to "fast" to prefer the lowest-latency provider instead of the default least-used-first routing.

Instructions

Guidance the server publishes about itself, which clients place ahead of the tool catalog so the model reads it before choosing anything.
