Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| JWT_AUD | No | Expected JWT aud claim. If unset, audience is not validated. | |
| SIGNING_KEY | No | JWT signing key. Required for HTTP mode; startup fails if missing. | |
| APP_USERS_PATH | No | Per-user data directory. Defaults to ~/.local/share/{name}/users/. | |
| REQUIRED_FS_TYPE | No | Opt-in startup assertion that the data dir lives on a specific filesystem type. | |
| TOKEN_DURATION_SECONDS | No | Token lifetime in seconds. Default 315360000 (~10yr). |
