Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| GROQ_API_KEY | No | API key for Groq, used when TRANSCRIPTION_PROVIDER is set to `groq`. | |
| OPENAI_API_KEY | No | API key for OpenAI, used when TRANSCRIPTION_PROVIDER is set to `openai`. | |
| WHATSAPP_STATE_DIR | No | Directory where runtime state lives. Defaults to ~/.whatsapp-channel/. | |
| WHATSAPP_DIAG_DEBUG | No | Set to 1 to enable Baileys' full debug stream. | |
| TRANSCRIPTION_PROVIDER | No | Voice transcription provider. Set to `groq` or `openai` to use a cloud provider instead of the local mlx-whisper script. The newer option is the plugin's "Voice transcription provider" setting. |
