Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.
| Name | Required | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| PYTHONPATH | Yes | Required. Must contain '<repo>\src' so that the 'dsh_mcp' package (this repo's source) is importable by the runtime interpreter, plus the pywin32 directories '<repo>\.venv\Lib\site-packages\win32' and '<repo>\.venv\Lib\site-packages\win32\lib' because mcp 2.x imports pywintypes on Windows and PYTHONPATH does not process .pth files. Omitting it causes 'ModuleNotFoundError: No module named dsh_mcp' or 'No module named pywintypes' at server startup. | |
| DSH_MCP_WORKDIR | No | Working directory used by the MCP server, e.g. '<repo>'. | |
| DSH_MCP_CALL_LOG | No | Path of the JSONL audit log where one line is appended per tool call. Defaults to 'logs\mcp_calls.jsonl'. | |
| DSH_MCP_DSH_HOME | No | Points DSH_HOME to a writable directory. Alternative to using an interpreter located outside the workspace to avoid 'EPERM ... .dsh\profiles\...\cordis.yml' caused by Windows sandbox restrictions. | |
| DSH_MCP_STATE_DIR | No | Directory where session state is persisted to support session continuation, e.g. '<repo>\.dsh-a2a'. |
