Server Configuration

Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
FCP_MCP_INDEXNoSet to off to disable the analysis cache. Nothing depends on it; every tool still answers, only slower.
FCP_WATCH_DIRNoDirectory to watch for the operator's Cmd-E XML exports, so watch_start can detect and diff them against the last export.
FCP_MCP_AUTOPUSHNoSet to 1 to automatically push generated FCPXML into a running Final Cut Pro instead of requiring a manual push_to_fcp call.
FCP_PROJECTS_DIRYesThe directory where your Final Cut Pro projects (exported FCPXML files) live, e.g. ~/Movies. Passed to the server via env in the MCP client config.
