Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.
| Name | Required | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| API_TOKEN | No | Bearer token required to authenticate against the service when connecting over HTTP (`https://<domain>/mcp` with header `Authorization: Bearer <token>`). Not needed for the local stdio variant running inside the container. | |
| MCP_TIMEOUT | No | Client-side timeout in milliseconds used when launching the stdio MCP server (Claude Code agent environment). | |
| THREADS_API_URL | No | Address of the running service that the MCP process calls via POST /actions/<name>. Taken from PORT by default; this variable overrides it. Not needed when the MCP server runs inside the already-configured container (e.g. the local stdio variant via `docker exec`), since the container is already started with its environment. | |
| MCP_TOOL_TIMEOUT | No | Client-side tool timeout in milliseconds for the agent (Claude Code). Should be raised to 300000 to match the service's queue/nginx timeouts, otherwise the client aborts before queued browser actions complete. | 300000 |
