Server Configuration

Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
GROQ_API_KEYNoProvider credential used to unlock more models and higher limits. Optional: the proxy can start without credentials when an enabled keyless route (e.g. Pollinations, OVHcloud, Kilo Gateway, LLM7) is available.
FREELLMPOOL_MODENoConservative quota mode, e.g. "wise": ask defaults to a smaller output budget and spread routing, tokenmax narrows its default fan-out, and broad multi-model calls require confirmation unless --yes is passed.
FREELLMPOOL_ROUTINGNoRouting strategy, e.g. "fast" to prefer the lowest-latency provider instead of the default least-used-first.
FREELLMPOOL_PROXY_KEYNoBearer token clients must present when the published port is deliberately exposed beyond loopback. On loopback, any placeholder API key works unless this is configured.
FREELLMPOOL_PUBLIC_BADGENoSet to 1 to let the proxy serve /badge.svg and /summary.svg live so public badges are embeddable.
