Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| THINKRAIL_ROOT | No | The workspace root for the MCP server. Resolved after the --root CLI option, then the THINKRAIL_ROOT environment variable, then CLAUDE_PROJECT_DIR, then the server's own working directory. A root that is missing or not a directory is reported as an error. | |
| CLAUDE_PROJECT_DIR | No | The session's project directory, used as the workspace root if THINKRAIL_ROOT is not set. Every one of the three hosts sets this to the session's project directory. |
