- **Missing API Key**: Clear instructions on how to set the HUBSPOT_ACCESS_TOKEN
- **HubSpot API Errors**: Includes status code, message, and request details for debugging
- **Validation Errors**: Helpful messages for invalid parameters or missing required fields

All errors are logged to stderr (safe for stdio transport) and returned to the client in a structured format.

## Important Notes

### Security Considerations

- Never commit your `.env` file or expose your HubSpot access token
- The access token is passed via environment variables for security
- Use HubSpot private apps with minimal required scopes

### HubSpot Access Token

To use this server, you need a HubSpot private app access token with the following scopes:

**Required Scopes:**

- `crm.objects.contacts.read` and `crm.objects.contacts.write`
- `crm.objects.companies.read` and `crm.objects.companies.write`
- `crm.objects.deals.read` and `crm.objects.deals.write`
- `tickets` (read and write)
- `crm.objects.owners.read`
- `crm.schemas.contacts.read`
- `crm.schemas.companies.read`
- `crm.schemas.deals.read`
- `crm.objects.notes.read` and `crm.objects.notes.write`
- `crm.objects.calls.read` and `crm.objects.calls.write`
- `crm.objects.emails.read` and `crm.objects.emails.write`
- `crm.objects.meetings.read` and `crm.objects.meetings.write`
- `crm.objects.tasks.read` and `crm.objects.tasks.write`
- `automation` (read and write, for workflow management)

**Create a private app:**

1. Go to HubSpot Settings > Integrations > Private Apps
2. Click "Create a private app"
3. Add the required scopes listed above
4. Generate the access token
5. Copy the token and use it as `HUBSPOT_ACCESS_TOKEN`

B3.2/5.0

Scored across 82 tools

Disambiguation5/5

Every tool targets a distinct object (contact, company, deal, ticket, note, call, email, meeting, task, workflow, association, property, pipeline, owner) and action (create, read, update, delete, list, search, batch). Even similar operations like 'list' vs 'search' are clearly separated. No ambiguity between tools.

Naming Consistency5/5

All tools follow a consistent 'hubspot_verb_noun' pattern (e.g., hubspot_create_contact, hubspot_search_deals, hubspot_delete_company). The convention is uniform across all 82 tools, making it predictable for agents. No mixing of styles like camelCase or underscores variations.

Tool Count3/5

82 tools is high for a single server. While HubSpot has a broad API, the tool set could be split into focused servers (e.g., CRM objects, engagements, settings). Some objects have 7-10 tools each, leading to redundancy. The count is borderline appropriate but leans toward excessive.

Completeness5/5

The tool set comprehensively covers core HubSpot CRM objects (contacts, companies, deals, tickets, notes, calls, emails, meetings, tasks) with full CRUD, search, batch operations, associations, workflows, properties, pipelines, and owners. No significant gaps for typical CRM workflows. Associations and property discovery tools enhance completeness.
