# Confluence Server MCP — Archived Distribution

A **Model Context Protocol (MCP)** server that connects AI assistants to Confluence Server/Data Center. Search pages, manage content, handle attachments, and interact with your Confluence instance through natural language in Claude and other AI assistants.

It is not the original source repository and is not affiliated with the original author. The published JavaScript, type declarations, and source maps are preserved; the unpublished TypeScript source, tests, and Git history are not available. See [PROVENANCE.md](PROVENANCE.md).

## Quick Start

### Run Directly from GitHub

Install it as a dependency:

### Get Your Confluence Server Credentials

1. Log into your Confluence Server instance
2. Go to **Profile** > **Settings** > **Personal Access Tokens**
3. Click **Create token**
4. Give it a name and copy the generated token
5. Note your Confluence Server URL (e.g., `https://confluence.yourcompany.com`)

### Configuration

#### Claude Code

Add the server using the Claude Code CLI:

## Available Tools

The server provides **16 MCP tools** for Confluence Server operations. All tools are prefixed with `confluence_` to avoid name collisions.

### Search (1 tool)
- `confluence_search` - Search content with CQL (Confluence Query Language)

### Pages (6 tools)
- `confluence_get_page` - Get page content (by ID, or by title + space key; supports historical versions)
- `confluence_get_page_children` - Get child pages of a page
- `confluence_get_page_history` - Get version history of a page
- `confluence_create_page` - Create a new page
- `confluence_update_page` - Update page content (auto-fetches version if not provided)
- `confluence_delete_page` - Delete a page

### Comments (2 tools)
- `confluence_get_comments` - Get comments on a page
- `confluence_add_comment` - Add a comment to a page

### Labels (2 tools)
- `confluence_get_labels` - Get labels on a page
- `confluence_add_label` - Add labels to a page

### Attachments (5 tools)
- `confluence_get_attachments` - List attachments on a page
- `confluence_download_attachment` - Download a single attachment
- `confluence_download_all_attachments` - Download all attachments from a page
- `confluence_upload_attachment` - Upload files to a page (supports multiple files)
- `confluence_delete_attachment` - Delete an attachment

## Archive Contents

This repository contains the installable compiled distribution: readable ESM JavaScript, TypeScript declarations, and source maps under `dist/`. It can be installed and run as a package without rebuilding. It does not contain the original TypeScript source tree or development configuration.

## Troubleshooting

### Common Issues

**"Authentication failed"**
- Verify your Personal Access Token is correct
- Ensure the token has not expired

**"Access forbidden"**
- Check your Confluence user has permission for the space or page
- Verify space-level permissions

**"Resource not found"**
- Confirm the page ID, space key, or attachment ID is correct
- Check you have access to the specified resource
