Server Configuration

Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
AUTH_TOKENNoA pre-existing Microsoft Graph access token (JWT for https://graph.microsoft.com) to use instead of MSAL login. Validated to ensure it targets https://graph.microsoft.com.
TEAMS_MCP_SCOPESNoOverride the permission scopes requested during authentication (comma or space separated, e.g. "User.Read Chat.ReadWrite").
TEAMS_MCP_CLIENT_IDNoAzure AD application (client) ID to authenticate with your own app registration instead of the default Microsoft Graph CLI app. Must be set on the MCP server process so it can renew tokens with the same app identity.

TEAMS_MCP_TENANT_IDNoPins the authority to a specific tenant (e.g. contoso.onmicrosoft.com); required for single-tenant app registrations.
