Server Configuration

Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
GROQ_API_KEYNoExample provider credential passed to the server (e.g. docker run --env GROQ_API_KEY). Optional: the server can start without credentials when an enabled keyless route is available; add keys for other providers to unlock more models and higher limits.
FREELLMPOOL_MODENoConservative quota mode, e.g. FREELLMPOOL_MODE=wise: ask defaults to a smaller output budget and spread routing, tokenmax narrows its default fan-out, and broad multi-model calls require confirmation.
FREELLMPOOL_ROUTINGNoRouting preference, e.g. FREELLMPOOL_ROUTING=fast to prefer the lowest-latency provider instead of the default least-used-first.
FREELLMPOOL_PROXY_KEYNoBearer token required from clients when the proxy/MCP server is deliberately exposed; "If you deliberately expose it, set FREELLMPOOL_PROXY_KEY and require that Bearer token from clients." On loopback, any placeholder key works unless this is set.
FREELLMPOOL_PUBLIC_BADGENoSet to 1 to let the server expose publicly embeddable badges at /badge.svg and /summary.svg.
