Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| SUBSTRATE_API_KEY | Yes | API key for the Substrate service. Must come from the process environment, never from a config file. | |
| SUBSTRATE_API_URL | Yes | The URL of the Substrate service, e.g. https://api.substrate.example | |
| SUBSTRATE_STATE_HOME | No | Optional override for the parent directory of local state. Defaults to ~/.substrate/codex_memory. |
