Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| FCP_WATCH_DIR | No | Directory watched to detect the operator's Cmd-E XML export and diff it against the last one; can be set once per session instead of calling watch_start. | |
| FCP_MCP_AUTOPUSH | No | Set to 1 to automatically push the generated FCPXML into a running Final Cut Pro (zero-click import) instead of calling deliver.push_to_fcp. | |
| FCP_PROJECTS_DIR | Yes | Directory containing your Final Cut Pro projects (e.g. ~/Movies). Set when adding the server, e.g. `claude mcp add fcpxml -e FCP_PROJECTS_DIR=~/Movies -- uvx fcp-mcp-server`. |
