Server Configuration

Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
FCP_MCP_INDEXNoSet to `off` to disable the analysis cache. Nothing depends on it; every tool still answers, only slower.
FCP_WATCH_DIRNoDirectory watched for the operator's Cmd-E export so the round-trip can close (run `watch_start` once per session, or set FCP_WATCH_DIR).
FCP_MCP_AUTOPUSHNoSet to 1 to automatically push results into the running Final Cut Pro instead of calling `deliver.push_to_fcp` manually.
FCP_PROJECTS_DIRNoDirectory containing your Final Cut Pro projects/exports. Set when adding the server, e.g. `claude mcp add fcpxml -e FCP_PROJECTS_DIR=~/Movies -- uvx fcp-mcp-server` or in the `env` block of the MCP server config.
