# Google Calendar MCP Server

An MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that enables AI assistants to manage Google Calendar.

## Features

- 📅 **List events** — View upcoming calendar events
- ➕ **Create events** — Schedule new meetings and appointments
- 🔍 **Find free slots** — Check availability for scheduling
- ✏️ **Update events** — Reschedule or modify existing events
- 🗑️ **Delete events** — Cancel events

## Installation

```bash
# Clone the repo
git clone https://github.com/SamRind/gcal-mcp-server.git
cd gcal-mcp-server

# Create virtual environment
python -m venv venv
source venv/bin/activate  # On Windows: venv\Scripts\activate

# Install dependencies
pip install -r requirements.txt
```

## Google Cloud Setup

1. Go to [Google Cloud Console](https://console.cloud.google.com/)
2. Create a new project (or select existing)
3. Enable the **Google Calendar API**
4. Create OAuth 2.0 credentials (Desktop app)
5. Download the credentials JSON and save as `credentials.json` in the project root

## Usage

### Running the server

```bash
python server.py
```

### Connecting to Claude Desktop

Add to your Claude Desktop config (`~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json`):

## Tools

| Tool | Description |
|------|-------------|
| `list_events` | List upcoming events (default: next 7 days) |
| `create_event` | Create a new calendar event |
| `find_free_slots` | Find available time slots |
| `update_event` | Update an existing event |
| `delete_event` | Delete/cancel an event |
