# šŸŖ™ erc20-mcp

`erc20-mcp` is an ERC-20 token resolution module for [PILSO OS](https://pil.so) — the secure execution layer for onchain agents and LLMs.
This MCP server fetches, parses, and exposes live token metadata across supported chains, enabling agents to reason about token symbols, decimals, balances, and allowances without hardcoding token addresses or ABIs.

Part of the PILSO OS Suite — Pilot Interface for LLMs Signature Operations — this server acts as a modular token registry + ERC-20 method router inside the MCP agent stack.

## ✨ Key Features

- 🧠 **Live Token Metadata**: Resolves symbols, decimals, and token names via onchain calls, caching results for faster inference.
- šŸ¦ **Balance & Allowance Checks**: Enables LLMs to check ERC-20 balances and allowances in natural language queries.
- šŸ”Œ **Plug & Play**: Drop-in MCP module — works with Claude, GPT-4, and any LLM that supports MCP.
- šŸ” **Composable**: Built to work alongside other MCP modules like `chainlist-mcp`, `metamask-mcp`, and `solc-mcp`.

## šŸ“¦ Requirements

- Node.js (v20 or higher)
- `pnpm`

---

## šŸš€ Setup

```bash
# 1. Clone the repo
git clone https://github.com/pilso/erc-20-mcp.git
cd erc20-mcp
# 2. Install dependencies
pnpm install
# 3. Build the project
## 🧠 Usage with Claude / PILSO Agent
Include in your .mcpilot.config.json:
```bash
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "erc20": {
      "command": "node",
      "args": ["./dist/index.js"]
    }
  }
}
```
## 🧱 Part of PILSO OS
PILSO OS is the trustless AI signing layer for Web3 — powered by modular MCP servers.
`erc20-mcp` is part of the PILSO OS suite — the trustless AI signing layer for Web3, powered by modular MCP servers.
This server acts as a **registry utility** in the MCP stack. It enables secure, agent-native access to token metadata and balances without compromising key custody or injecting risky backend logic.
