Tools
Functions exposed to the LLM to take actions
| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| format_jsonA | Validate JSON and pretty-print or minify it, optionally sorting object keys. Returns the error position for invalid JSON. |
| generate_qr_codeA | Make a static QR code for a link or text (up to 800 bytes). Returns a PNG image and the SVG markup. Static codes never expire. |
| convert_unitsA | Convert a value between units of the same category. Units (symbol or name): length: m, km, mi, ft, in, cm, mm, yd, nmi; weight: kg, g, lb, oz, t, mg, st; temperature: °C, °F, K; volume: L, mL, gal, fl oz, cup, tbsp, m³; speed: km/h, mph, m/s, kn, ft/s; area: m², km², mi², ft², ac, ha; data: B, KB, MB, GB, TB, bit, KiB, MiB, GiB, TiB; time: s, min, h, d, wk, mo, yr, ms. |
| generate_passwordA | Generate random passwords with a cryptographically secure generator. Each chosen character set appears at least once. |
| generate_uuidB | Generate random version 4 UUIDs. |
| hash_textA | Hash UTF-8 text with MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384 or SHA-512 and return the hex digest. MD5 and SHA-1 are for checksums only, not security. |
| base64A | Encode UTF-8 text to Base64 (standard or URL-safe) or decode Base64 back to text. |
| test_regexA | Run a JavaScript regular expression against text and list every match with its position and capture groups (up to 200 matches, 0.5 s limit). |
| convert_timestampA | Convert a Unix timestamp (seconds or milliseconds) or a date string to Unix seconds, milliseconds, ISO 8601, UTC and a chosen time zone. |
| count_wordsA | Count words, characters, sentences and paragraphs in text, with an estimated reading time. |

TDQS
Scored across 10 tools
Each tool targets a clearly distinct utility: unit conversion, timestamp conversion, hashing, Base64, regex testing, text statistics, JSON formatting, and generation of passwords, UUIDs, and QR codes. convert_units and convert_timestamp share a conversion verb but operate on obviously different domains and inputs, so there is no meaningful ambiguity.
Most tools follow a predictable snake_case verb_noun or verb_object pattern: convert_units, generate_password, hash_text, test_regex, count_words, format_json, and generate_qr_code. The lone deviation is base64, a bare noun with no action verb, which is a minor inconsistency in an otherwise consistent set.
Ten tools is squarely within the ideal range for a general-purpose utility server, and each one covers a commonly needed operation without obvious redundancy. No tool feels like filler or an unnecessary variant of another.
The surface covers a broad and useful set of text, encoding, hashing, generation, conversion, and formatting utilities with no dead-end core workflows. A few common helpers such as URL encode/decode, random-number generation, or text case conversion are absent, but agents can work around these gaps.
