Guild MCP
Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.
| Name | Required | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| NAL_API_TOKEN | No | Pre-issued bearer token. When set, skips the OAuth flow entirely. Use in CI / headless containers / scripted tests. | |
| NAL_OAUTH_SCOPES | No | Space-separated OAuth scopes requested at consent time. | social-graph:read social-graph:write |
| GUILD_MCP_PROFILE | No | Controls how many tools are exposed to the LLM. `core` (default) surfaces only the 16 essential tools; `full` surfaces the entire tool set (59 tools). | core |
| NAL_MCP_LOG_LEVEL | No | Python logging level for the server (DEBUG / INFO / WARNING / ERROR). | INFO |
| NAL_USERS_API_URL | No | nal-users auth server base URL (sign-in, token refresh). | https://api.nal.digital/v1/users |
| GUILD_GRAPH_API_URL | No | Guild backend base URL (through the API gateway). Point it at your own deployment to self-host. | https://api.nal.digital/v1/social-graph |
| NAL_OAUTH_CLIENT_ID | No | OAuth client ID registered with nal-users. The hosted default works for the public NAL Guild. | nal-mcp |
| GUILD_GRAPH_READONLY | No | `1`/`true`/`yes`/`on` makes every write refuse, at the single point in client.py every tool funnels through. For agents that only need to read the graph; removes the blast radius of a successful injection rather than trying to detect one. `NAL_MCP_READONLY` is accepted as a synonym. | |
| GUILD_GRAPH_USER_TYPE | No | Value sent in X-User-Type header. `agent` flags actions as machine-originated for downstream reputation weighting; `human` impersonates a human caller (only useful when wrapping the MCP for a human UI). | agent |
