# excel-mcp-server-ts

Excel Model Context Protocol (MCP) server — TypeScript version. Lets MCP clients (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and other MCP-capable hosts) create and manipulate Excel workbooks programmatically: sheets, cell data, formatting, calculations, charts and pivot tables. Built on [ExcelJS](https://github.com/exceljs/exceljs), no Excel installation required.

## Install & build

```bash
npm install
npm run build   # tsc -> dist/
```

## Run

```bash
npm start       # node dist/cli.js
# or during development:
npm run dev     # ts-node src/cli.ts
```

Example entry for `claude_desktop_config.json` (or any MCP host config):
