Server Configuration

Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
GROQ_API_KEYNoProvider API key (example: Groq). Add keys for providers via the environment to unlock more models and higher limits; the proxy can start credential-free when an enabled keyless route is available. Passed to the container as --env GROQ_API_KEY in the Docker example.
FREELLMPOOL_MODENoConservative quota mode, e.g. FREELLMPOOL_MODE=wise: ask defaults to a smaller output budget and spread routing, tokenmax narrows its default fan-out, and broad multi-model calls require confirmation unless --yes is passed. Per-command --mode normal|wise overrides the environment.
FREELLMPOOL_ROUTINGNoRouting strategy, e.g. FREELLMPOOL_ROUTING=fast prefers the lowest-latency provider instead of the default least-used-first.
FREELLMPOOL_PROXY_KEYNoBearer token required from clients when the proxy is deliberately exposed; if set, clients must send this token. Keep the published port on loopback otherwise.
FREELLMPOOL_PUBLIC_BADGENoSet to 1 to make public badges embeddable; the proxy then serves /badge.svg and /summary.svg live.
