reddit-mcp

서브레딧 탐색, 서브레딧 내 검색, 댓글 트리 검색 및 사용자 활동 조회를 위해 Reddit API를 래핑하는 읽기 전용 모델 컨텍스트 프로토콜(MCP) 서버입니다. Claude Code 및 Claude Desktop을 통해 r/homelabsales, r/hardwareswap 및 유사한 서브레딧을 개인적으로 추적하기 위한 용도입니다. Python으로 작성되었으며 stdio를 통해 로컬에서 실행됩니다.

비밀번호 부여 방식; 일반 텍스트 구성에 비밀번호를 저장합니다.

신규 사용자: 익명 계층으로 시작하세요. Reddit은 2025년 11월에 셀프 서비스 API 키 생성을 종료했으므로(책임 있는 빌더 정책), 현재 OAuth 자격 증명을 얻으려면 일반적으로 개인 스크립트를 거부하는 승인 절차가 필요합니다. 익명 계층은 이 서버가 구현하는 모든 읽기 경로를 지원합니다. 자세한 내용은 docs/design.md 섹션 3.2를 참조하세요.

플러그인 설치 (로컬 개발)

전체 저장소는 Claude Code 플러그인(스킬 + 슬래시 명령어 + MCP 서버 번들)입니다. 로컬에서 시도하려면:

Claude Code를 다시 시작하세요. 첫 MCP 활성화 시 5개의 필드(reddit_user_agent, reddit_client_id, reddit_client_secret, reddit_username, reddit_password)를 입력하라는 메시지가 표시되며, 모두 선택 사항입니다. 하위 계층을 유지하려면 일부 또는 전부를 비워 두세요. 계층에 관계없이 reddit_user_agent를 설정하는 것이 권장됩니다. macos:reddit-mcp:0.2 (by /u/yourusername) 형식을 사용하세요.

활성화되면 스킬, /reddit-deal-hunter:scan 및 /reddit-deal-hunter:thread-check 명령어, 그리고 4개의 모든 MCP 도구(get_subreddit_posts, search_subreddit, get_post_details, user_analysis)를 사용할 수 있게 됩니다.

주의: 2026년 4월 기준으로 플러그인 번들의 MCP 계층이 모든 설치 시 Claude Code 세션에 도구를 연결하지 못할 수 있습니다(plugin.json의 인라인 mcpServers는 지원되는 것으로 문서화되어 있지만 GUI 런타임 동작은 다를 수 있음). 스킬과 슬래시 명령어는 나타나지만 mcp__reddit_mcp__* 도구가 나타나지 않으면 아래의 MCP 전용 설치 경로로 돌아가세요. 자세한 내용은 docs/tool-ux-findings.md 및 HANDOFF.md(세션 5 부록)를 참조하세요.

수동 설치 (MCP 전용, 플러그인 없음) — 현재 가장 안정적인 경로

MCP 서버만 원하거나(스킬, 슬래시 명령어 없음), 위의 플러그인 계층 설치가 세션에 MCP 도구를 연결하지 못하는 경우, 사용자 범위에서 직접 Claude Code에 등록하세요:

상태

Pre-v1 단계입니다. 익명 계층은 자격 증명 없이 처음부터 끝까지 작동합니다(Reddit에 대해 실시간 검증됨; 10/10 평가 제품군 통과). 자격 증명이 있는 경우 OAuth 업그레이드 경로가 작동합니다. 남은 v1 작업: docs/tool-ux-findings.md에서 추적되는 도구 응답 프로젝션 리팩토링. v1 검증 후 공개 릴리스 예정.
