Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| HWPCTL_STATE | No | Overrides the default state directory path. Used for storing lock and state files. | |
| HWPCTL_TOKEN | No | Bearer token required for HTTP mode when using --http. If not set, HTTP requests will return 401. | |
| HWPCTL_CLIENT | No | Client name used in error messages and shown in the lock file. For example, 'cursor', 'codex', 'claude', 'gemini', or 'grok-build'. |
